Learning about the Los Angeles Jewish Community

Daniel Gold and Ahuvah Ron introduced us to the L.A. Jewish Federation.

We learned that:
There are 12 million Jews in the world.
There are 550,000 Jews in Los Angeles.
The L.A .Federation works to strengthen the Jewish community.
$55 million was raised last year.
$2 million went to the L.A .Tel Aviv Partnership programs, which includes environment, water, commerce, trade projects, and of course education.
There are 18 schools in the L.A. Tel Aviv twinning program.

The students played the Jewish philanthropy game. Each team was given $100,000 and decided how they would distribute it.

"We should strive to help all disabled people, not only Jewish people." Leora
"We should build a Jewish Community Center" Tal
"We should collect and give money to Jewish World Watch." Noah E
"We should help all people." Zohar
" We should help Jews first." Nitzan
"Education is the key to help people" Dylan
